This includes managing the production cycle from concept to distribution in partnership with design, merchandising, buying, planning and logistics, in addition to partnering with kate spade’s Rwanda-based supplier, and on purpose vendors across Europe and Asia.

Prior to this, she partnered with women artisans in Peru to create an independent accessories label featuring luxury handcrafted goods. Ibada’s education in fashion includes a residency with luxury Italian menswear brand, Ermenegildo Zegna, where she spent nine months in Italy exploring sustainable manufacturing at Zegna, Gucci and Fendi. She has particularly focused on artisan communities throughout her career with a concentration on economic development. This includes work at The Aspen Institute’s Alliance for Artisan Enterprise from 2013-2014 and at the Smithsonian Center for Folklife and Cultural Heritage in 2015. In 2016, Ibada resumed her education, participating in the Institute for Design + Public Policy at Rhode Island School of Design, a program co-hosted by the U.S. Department of State.
